Body Scrubs and Wraps

Scrubs and wraps performed on a draped table, with a shower typically built into the appointment.

A body scrub is exfoliation across the body, applied and removed by the esthetician or therapist, usually followed by a shower and moisturizer. A wrap applies a product and then wraps you while it sits, again usually finishing with a shower. Both are performed with the same draping practice as a massage: only the area being worked is uncovered, and undressing fully is never required.

The logistics are worth asking about ahead of time. Some rooms have a shower and some spas use a shared one, timing varies by treatment, and the difference is worth knowing when you are planning the rest of your day. Skip a scrub if your skin is broken, sunburned, irritated or freshly waxed or shaved, and say so rather than letting it go ahead. If a product could be a problem — a fragrance, a nut oil, anything you react to — that goes on the intake form.
